Completion of the Hull Refitting Phases of the Amerigo Vespucci

Vespucci ship - Refitting

The hull refitting phases of the Amerigo Vespucci have been completed at the Naval Arsenal of La Spezia, carried out by the highly qualified workforce of Casa del Motore. At the end of the works, the vessel was refloated inside the dry dock, marking a key milestone in the planned modernization program.

Prior to undergoing this major maintenance phase, the ship had returned to Italy after a long world tour during which it represented Italy and its excellence across all five continents, calling at numerous ports and promoting the country’s image and Made in Italy through cultural initiatives and international visibility activities.

Work now continues with scheduled refitting operations, including mechanical and structural interventions, in line with the planned maintenance program. It is hoped that the Amerigo Vespucci will return to sea next spring, continuing to fulfill its historic and prestigious role in the training of Officer Cadets of the Italian Navy.
